once upon a time

Today is Saturday but catching up on last couple of days.
On thursday we went to Durnstein and Melk.these two little towns are straight out of Grim Brothers fairy tales. Really old like 13th century.

Durnstein is in the Wachau valley and has beautiful scenery and architecture. However is best known as town where Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned and eventually rescued by his servant who found him by singing a special song and waiting for the reply.

Also known for wine growing and we got to sample wine and their famous brandy apricot schnaps. Not bad. One of the photos is the pretty bar where we had the tasting.
Some photos from very old cemetery where to conserve space, not everyone got to be buried. There is a photo of a room full of bones of the people who missed out.
